I agree with all of the above. I tried installing QuickBooks Desktop Accountant from my software downloads online. Went through all the prompts on 2 different computers. At the end of the installation the “Open QuickBooks” button is grayed out and there is no icon on my desktop. It does however add “QuickBooks Server ” to my add or remove programs list. That is the only evidence I can find that it installed something but it sure wasn’t QuickBooks Desktop.

I installed it 3 times in a row on one machine thinking there was a one-time fluke. This is not the case it is a consistent issue. Mine was defaulting to 3rd option as well. Had the same issue.
